Winter is on its way to Kolkata, and like every year this year too, Victoria Memorial will be on the top list of best places to visit in Kolkata.
But, this time Victoria Memorial is prepping up to gift its visitors with a surprise, by light and sound show that will be projected on the magnificent white marble architecture.
This 3D projection on the building frontage will bring up the evolution of Kolkata, starting from Job Charnock arrival in Kolkata covering all the events and changes till now.
Previously in 1991 also, light and sound show was conducted on giant screen in Victoria Memorial outer lawn.
The content of the show at that time, dealt with personalities from Raja Ram Mohan Roy to Rabindra Nath Tagore.
The upcoming show will be democratized and will involve common people as well and will narrate the journey and transformation of Kolkata.
Content will be provided by Victoria Memorial hall and team, funding will be done by ministry of tourism and KMC will be the implementing agency.
Victoria Memorial recently got a huge makeover at a cost of 60 Crore including security audit by CISF and around 130 personnel is deployed at VMH. Around 30 thousands objects and artefact’s have been GPS tagged in part of modernization drive, and planning is going on to erect 10 feet boundary in it’s perimeter of about 3 km.
